Three Years of Cooperation Celebrated at the Final GINKGO Project Partners' Meeting

On Thursday 11 and Friday 12 June 2026, CEFAL and UNIBO in Bologna, Italy, hosted the final transnational meeting of the partners involved in the GINKGO Project – The Social Connection Factory.
This was a particularly meaningful event, as the Bologna meeting was also the last face-to-face gathering before the official closure of the project in August 2026.
The two days provided an opportunity to exchange experiences, review achievements, and celebrate significant milestones. Partners were finally able to discover and hold in their hands the tangible outcomes of several years of collaborative work.
We also had the privilege of taking part in a theatre workshop with the “Signorine” group from Auser, a volunteer association dedicated to promoting active ageing and enhancing the role of older people in society.
The training programme, the practical guide for professionals and volunteers, and the photo book featuring participants’ stories and testimonies—previously available only in digital format—have now been printed and distributed.
This moment marks the culmination of a rich three-year journey that brought together universities, researchers, training providers, associations, and volunteers. Throughout the project, many older adults were supported and placed at the heart of the initiative with care, respect, and commitment.
